Development Machine assignedSubmitted by drewzhrodague on Sat, 2007-11-03 11:51.
C at work chucked a few dual Athlon mainboards which, to the amusement of our friendly IT guys, I promptly brought home. I scored a nice rack chassis, and tossed the two disks, some DIMMs from Gus's place, and this neat new power supply. I used the sole working mainboard from the three that I brought home, and an unimpressive-but-working PCI SATA controller. This is our development machine I've also moved most of the data over to this machine, and started compiling the appropriate software. I'm really like the idea of RPMs, rather than compiled packages. There aren't many RPMs for some of the funky tools we need. I am tempted to make them myself, probably when I get around to it. There is a CVS repository for the environment. Right now, it contains only what's needed for the website. The file processing code and any other Drupal module we'll write, are inside their own CVS repository. Everything else, including a neat make script, is housed in the website repository. Our module repository will eventually find a home in the Drupal tree, or on sourceforge. All our code will be GPL or CC. If you're interested in helping us on this project, Create an account, or send me an email (drew from zhrodague.net).
